How Regenerative Medicine Can Help Ease Your Chronic Pain

Regenerative medicine is a relatively new and exciting sector of the medical field. While research is ongoing about the potential it has to transform the way doctors treat countless chronic conditions, regenerative medicine treatments are available to help our patients. Buckhead Injury Wellness Institute offers FDA-approved regenerative medicine as an option if you suffer from chronic pain.

What is regenerative medicine?

Regenerative medicine is an area of medicine where we use stem cell material to regenerate damaged cells, tissue, or organs. New healthy cells replace the damaged ones. While most treatments in the past have served to treat the symptoms of a chronic disorder or injury, this method addresses the root cause. Regenerative medicine has great potential, but only a limited set of treatments are available commercially.

Exosome therapy

Buckhead uses Organicell products to perform a regenerative medicine treatment known as exosome therapy. Exosomes are extracellular material released by cells to transmit messages to other cells. These messages allow cells to know to behave and perform specific functions. When you have a degenerative disease or an injury, external factors can hinder the cell-to-cell communication and slow healing.

During exosome therapy, we introduce healthy new exosomes to the treatment area through an IV. The external exosomes stimulate the regeneration of the damaged tissue. The goal is to restore the health of your tissue and end the source of your chronic pain. You may experience immediate relief from your pain after the procedure, but it takes several weeks or months for Organicell products to completely heal your pain.

Conditions benefited by regenerative medicine

Severe chronic pain can be caused by various medical conditions. Exosome therapy is used in many cases as an alternative to regular long-term treatments designed to merely manage your pain. It also serves as an alternative to invasive surgical procedures. Some of the conditions we use regenerative medicine for include:

The risks

There are no known risks of exosome therapy. Organicell is procured in the US, and each donor of exosomes is screened for HIV and hepatitis. If you receive the treatment at our office, you can expect to feel no discomfort. Patients are released immediately after the procedure with no need for downtime. In rare cases, patients may experience nausea, headaches, and fever following the procedure. These side effects clear up within a few days.

Physical activity

After the therapy, we advise you to monitor your physical activity. You should avoid extraneous physical activity for the next 24 to 48 hours, resume cardio workout after four to five weeks, and resume any weightlifting or intensity running four weeks after the procedure. During this time you should stop taking anti-inflammatory medication.

Knowing where to go

Regenerative medicine is only administered by specific providers. The cost of the procedure may be higher than other treatment options. Buckhead Injury Wellness Institute has a team of experienced doctors who can walk you through the procedure and answer all of your questions.
